Merging Images/Bordering/Adding Text and Rulers

Many on-line auctions (for example E-Bay) allow you to place only one free image on their site per auction. For those instances use AIPS to combine two or more images into a single image with or without variable width, textured borders, optional text and optional rulers. The images, which can be different sizes, can be combined vertically or horizontally and can be aligned on any edge.

After selecting "Combine" on the AIPS main form, the AIPS "Combine" form will open and appear similar to the following.

Select two images, then rotate, flip, or crop them as desired. Click the "Continue" button to combine the images, add borders, text or scaled rulers.

It is also useful to combine images prior to printing them out so that you can print multiple pictures per sheet of paper. For example a husband/wife or son/daughter side by side makes an excellent printout. Or the pictures may be cut for smaller frames. Even wallet sized images can be printed by recursively combining the same image into one printable image.

The AIPS "Combine" images form offers all the following features:

Ease of use -- combines bitmap, jpegs, or bitmaps and jpegs.

- Horizontally -- by the top edge, the middle, or the bottom edge.
- Vertically -- by the left edge, the middle or the right edge.
Optionally Add borders

- Any font available on your system
Optionally add up to four scaled rulers (two horizontal and two vertical) to indicated the size of an object within a picture.

NOTE: All the features of the Combine form can also be applied to a single image by selecting only one image and leaving the other blank.

Clicking the "Continue" button will cause the preview form to open with the combined images displayed.

Click on the "Save Image" menu selection to save the combined images or the "Options" menu selection to change the image alignment, border width, border color, add text, or add rulers.
