Printing Reminders

You can print a reminder page, fold it up, and take it with you. This can be especially convenient if your reminder includes an unfamiliar address or if you've created a shopping list on a reminder page.

Search

The reminders program includes a powerful and useful search function that can be handy for everything from finding out when you visited the dentist to when and how much you paid for your property taxes. Note that the search form permits restricting the search to a specific date range.

Merge

The Merge function is for merging two reminder files. If you run reminders on your desktop and your laptop for example, merge can combine the two reminder files into a single reminder file. Just email "myreminders.txt" from one system to the other and perform the "Merge" command. It can also be useful if you wish to encompass someone else's reminders into your reminder file.

Purge

Use the Purge function to remove obsolete reminders from your reminders file making your reminders more manageable. For example on January 1st you may wish to purge your reminders from the previous year leaving only this years reminders in your reminders file. The purged reminders are placed in their own file with a ".prg" extension and they can be read in when necessary for searching (recalling) important information. Think of Purging as dividing your reminders into books analogous to saving your old Daily Reminders book on a shelf.
